Adilbek A. Yermekbayev, PhD, is an Associate Professor and researcher at the Department of International Relations and World Economy at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Kazakhstan. He has more than 20 years of academic experience in the fields of international relations, Central Asia, regional security, and Eurasian geopolitics. His main research interests include Turkey–Russia relations, Turkey's foreign policy, and integration among Turkic states. He also studies the Trans-Caspian transport corridor and energy security. Dr. Yermekbayev worked for many years at Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, where he held both teaching and administrative positions. At that university, he also served as Deputy Dean for Academic and Educational Affairs. He earned his PhD in International Relations from the same institution, with his doctoral dissertation focusing on the contemporary stage of Russia–Turkey relations. He has served as an academic secretary and deputy chair in dissertation councils and also participates as a reviewer for academic journals. Dr. Yermekbayev leads several research projects on Turkic integration and the Trans-Caspian transport route. He is also actively engaged in media and public discussions as an expert in international relations and geopolitics.
